Since 1957

On August 21, 1957, Robert (Bob) and Rose Pallman opened their store in downtown Indianapolis: Roberts Distributors, and poured their heart and soul into this small family-owned business. In 1976, Bob and Rose’s son Bruce Pallman took over the day-to-day operations. Bruce's two focuses for Roberts became our expert photography knowledge, and making our customers feel like family.

Family Owned and Operated

Building on that legacy, in 2012, Bruce’s daughter, Meredith, and son-in-law, Corey, joined the team! Today, they guide the best, most knowledgeable (and possibly funniest) staff in the business, through a focus on retail, e-commerce and distribution in the photo specialty industry that they are so proud to be a part of. That industry (and the way people shop) has changed, but we know that by continuing to make our customers feel like family we can keep this very special place moving forward.

Rental House by Roberts Camera is our newest division, here to provide our community with a great selection of photo, cinema/video, audio, lighting and more equipment for rent. Our knowledgeable team has excellent experience in the photo, video and cinema landscape and is on-site each day to answer your questions, provide equipment recommendations and make sure that you have the gear you need to accomplish your vision.
