If you're here, then you were probably experiencing some kind of problem with our site. We'd really recommend clearing your browser cache and cookies as a first step to getting everything working right again.

What is a Cache?

Your browser's cache, (pronounced cash), is a collection of web pages stored on your hard drive or in your phone/tablet storage. The cache includes the text, images, and most other media contained on web pages that you've visited.

Having a local copy of a web page makes for quick loading on your next visit because your computer or mobile device doesn't have to download it from the internet again.

What are Cookies?

Cookies are very small text files placed on your computer by a web server when you view some sites online (not all websites place cookies). They store data about you and your preferences so that a web server doesn't have to repeatedly request this information, potentially slowing download time. Cookies can only be accessed by the server that initiated them.

Cookies are commonly used to store personal registration data like your name and address, the contents of a shopping cart, and so on. They make it easy for web servers to personalize information to fit your specific needs and preferences when you're visiting a website. Cookies do no harm to your computer.

So, Why would I want to clear them?

  • Clearing your cache forces your browser to retrieve the newest copy available from the website, something that should happen automatically but sometimes doesn't.
  • You may have old cookies that are in a conflicting state with the website, causing a bug or problem. Clearing them is a great way to get a "clean slate" and start from scratch.
  • Another reason to clear cache and cookie data is to free up space on your hard drive. Over time, the cache can grow to a huge size; clearing it can recover some of that previously used space.

When you clear cookies the information stored by websites on your computer is removed. You’ll need to enter your login information again, and the site may initially take longer to load. Clearing your cookies will also empty your shopping cart.

How do I clear my cache and cookies?

Sorry, but you did this to yourself. Good news is, if you found a reason to use a different browser, then there's a decent chance you'll already know how to clear your cache and cookies.

If not, then we have every confidence you'll be able to figure it out. The browser documentation probably has you covered. Your visit to this page has also helped us locate your session in our own logs and we'll be able to access the diagnostic information we need to help you more.
